music awards...

i was reading about hte current mercury awards lineup, and for the first year that i've known about them, i just really can't care less. i don't know what it is, but if i were to guess, it'd have to be the fact that i havne't even really been listening to music much this year. i mean if you ask me cd use is overrated. there's times and places where music can be nice, but it doesnt have to necessarily rule your life.thats how i think current business models want people to live with music, with their lives saturated by it rather than complemented by it occasionally. so in that sense perhaps the business model is wrong. by trying to use things such as well... a drug supplier's sort of addictive-mindset... i think they cross the line into immoral behavior. but at the end of the day we're all better off with these sorts of things in moderation, rather than in the amounts mandated to us by television commercials and youth culture. it's a healthier more harmonious way of doing business, for the record companies, and to live life, for the consumers.
